Har lok prawn is one of our favourite dishes and also one of the most requested dishes by our loved ones. Once you've tried this, you'd never want your prawns done in another style - no joke. Oh well, not unless it's prawn fritters which is also another one of the most requested dishes. Back to this dish, this is known as Har Lok, a dish made popular or concocted by chefs from Hong Kong. This recipe serves 10
1kg mid to large size prawns
1/3 cup of kechap manis
1 bulb of garlic - minced
3 capful of shaoxing hua tiong wine
3 stalks of chilli padi or normal chilli (optional)
2-3 stalks of spring onion - cut into finger length
Note: if you don't have kechap manis, you can use 1/3 cup of dark soya sauce with 1 tablespoon of sugar)
