Crispy General Tsos Tofu

Seal and gently turn container so tofu is completely coated with the starch. Add the 2 t. Sesame oil to a nonstick frying pan.

Main Ingredients:
- 1 block of extra firm tofu, pressed, drained and cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 3 - 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon oil, for frying

Sauce Ingredients:
- ¼ cup of soy sauce or tamari
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1-2 tablespoons chili paste (depends on how spicy you like it)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit.
2. Prep tofu by pressing the excess water, and cut into bite size cubes.
3. In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, tofu, and flour. The flour and soy sauce will create a very thick batter to coat the tofu with. Play around with the flour and soy sauce measurements until you get the right consistency.
4. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, and line up your tofu.
5. Bake tofu for 30 minutes in the oven.
6. While tofu is in the oven, mince 4 cloves of garlic.
7. Next, mix together sauce ingredients, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, chili paste, and cornstarch.
8. After 30 minutes, remove tofu from the oven. It should be golden brown and crispy.
9. On a shallow frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. Saute garlic until slightly golden brown and fragrant. Take your sauce and pour on the pan with the garlic.
10. Keep stirring the sauce until it reduces and thickens.
11. Mix the tofu in with the sauce, making sure the sauce coats the tofu well.
12. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve! Enjoy!
