Amish Cran Apple Pie

For this amish dutch apple pie recipe you will cook the filling ingredients then add the raw apples. Put your sugar, salt, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to boil. Add the clear jel that has been mixed with water to make a paste.

Never Fail Pie Crust:

2 T. butter
1 1/2 c. fresh cranberries
1 c. sugar
2 T. flour
3 T. cornstarch
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. allspice
2 t. orange zest
1/4 c. boiled cider or undiluted apple juice concentrate
8 c. thinly sliced baking apples (I used honeycrisp)
2 t. pure vanilla extract
1/3 c. coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
