Air Fryer Honeynut Squash

Put 1 teaspoon butter in the cavity of each squash half, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Place them directly on the air fryer basket pan. Wash and dry the honeynut squash.

Perfect side dish with pecan pieces and sliced almond. This wonderful taste and flavor will remind you of fall.
The Honeynut squash is much more flavorful than its larger cousin (butternut). It’s often described as sweet and nutty. Besides being packed with more flavor than traditional butternut squash, the tiny Honeynut squash has more nutrients. The Honeynut is also a good source of vitamin A.

Ingredients:

-Honeynut squash 2
-Sliced almond 1/3 cup
-Pecan pieces 1/3 cup
-Brown sugar 1/3 cup
-Honey 3 Tbsp
-Maple syrup (optional)
-Ground nutmeg 1/2 tsp
-Ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp

Step by step instructions:

Cut off each end of the honeynut squash, then peel, cut in half (lengthwise) and scoop out the seeds.
Finally, cut the honeynut in pieces (dices).
Place the diced honeynut in an air fryer dish. Add 1/3 cup of pecan pieces, 1/3 cup of sliced almonds, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon and 3 Tbsp of honey. [Optional, you can add some maple syrup. If your honey is thick.]
Mix well until coated.
Then, add 1/4 cup of water. You will have a sweet sauce at the end.

Air fryer: 400F/200C for 20 minutes - Mix halfway

It smells so good!
